Anna Marie "Mary" Renstrom, 101, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at Karlstad Healthcare Center, Karlstad, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, May 11, 2007 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Strandquist, MN with Reverend Curtis Matz officiating. Burial will be at Mission Cemetery, rural Strandquist, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service in the church.

Anna Marie Thompson was born April 22, 1906 in Pelan Township, Roseau County, MN, the daughter of Ole and Kristina (Bolin) Thompson. She attended Country School Section 8 and then the Strandquist Consolidated School. She was baptized as an adult in a river by her uncle Rev. Peter Thompson. Mary moved to Minneapolis in 1929 where she worked as a domestic. She moved to Thief River Falls a year later and continued domestic work.

Mary was united in marriage to Leo Renstrom, December 10, 1932 at Drayton, ND. The couple lived in Strandquist, MN for a couple of years, before moving on the farm west of town. Leo owned and operated Leo's Garage in Strandquist until moving it to the farm. Leo passed away December 25, 1986 and Mary continued living on the farm with her daughter, Donna. She moved into the Karlstad Healthcare Center in 1999.

Mary attended the Assembly of God in Karlstad, MN and Strandquist Senior Citizens. She thoroughly enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed singing and reciting the bible.

Mary is survived by brothers, Walter Thompson, Karlstad, MN and Isaac (Betsy) Thompson, Karlstad, MN; sister, Elsie Lefrooth, Karlstad, MN, Myrtle (Roy) Vagle, Karlstad, MN, Hazel (Morris) Anderson, Strandquist, MN, Gloria (Danny) Renstrom, Karlstad, MN and Geneva Nordin, Karlstad, MN; 6 grandchildren; great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, Leo; daughters, Lois Carrico and Donna Renstrom; son, Vernon Thompson; sisters, Bertha Thompson and Dorothy Thompson and brothers, Ernest Thompson, and Peter E. Thompson.
