Millersburg - Fred Smith Sr., 66 died at the Pomerene Memorial Hospital at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday after a long illness. Mr. Smith was admitted to the hospital Tuesday. He was born in Wayne county Dec 15 1884, a son of George and Rebecca Smith.
A member of the Wooster Federated church he was a farmer all his life near Layland until recently when he moved to Millersburg R.D.1. On May 19, 1924 he married Pearl Bender.
Surviving is his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Albert Watson of Millersburg R.D.1; a son, Fred, Jr., of Coshocton, and six grandchildren.
A brother and one sister died previously.
Services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Holmesville Federated church with Rev L. Chester Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in Holmesville cemetery.
Friends may call at the Eillott and Myers funeral home from Thursday noon until Friday noon and at the church from Friday noon until services.
Arrangements are by the Elliott and Myers funeral home.
