Anthony Rowe 1900 Obit
Anthony Rowe an old resident of Constantia, died at his home near that place. Nov. 9th (Should be Dec 7, 1900).
He was born in France in 1826(should be 1820), and at the age of twenty-one years he entered in the service of the French army in which he served seven years.While in the service he was in Africa Capturing negroes, which were Shipped to America as slaves. At the age of twenty-nine years he came to this country and took up his abode in Syracuse, N.Y., Soon after, he married Christina Doal of that city. One daughter was born to them, Mrs. John Ort of this village. One year after his marriage his wife died. One year later he married Katherine Reed of Syracuse. There were eight sons, Anthony, Peter, Frank, Joseph, Charles, Powly, John and William, and three daughters: Kate, Margaret, Lauria.
From Syracuse, Mr. Rowe moved to Baldwinsville, there resided several years after which he came to this county. He was a kind husband and father and had a large circle of friends.
The funeral was held Monday at the catholic church, Little France, the Rev. Father Mertens officating. Burial in Little France Cemetery.
