Carl (Charles) lived to be 100 years and six months. He immigrated from Germany to the United States in the 1870's and worked in New York, a Chicago Meat Packing Plant, St. Louis Missouri Ice Houses and then relocated to Texas. He worked for the railroad as a supervisor of track layers around Langtry and Ft. Stockton and west Texas. He relocated to San Antonio and bought a farm on the San Antonio River in Southton, Texas. He married Hilda Traugott and they had 10 children with 7 surviving children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
