Arlow Lasiter, son of Thomas and Louisa Lasiter, was born June 7, 1891 in Aurora, Missouri. He came to the Tri-City area with his parents shortly after he was born.

He helped his father on the farm when he was just a young boy. He later became a miner, working in several mines in and around the area. He worked as a miner long after he was married. He married very young and had two daughters, Thelma and Marie, but lost his wife soon after.

He then met and married Hazel Grace Rose, daughter of Alfred and Myrtle Rose of Alba, Missouri. They had three daughters, Margaret, Zula, and Ruth, and three sons, George, born in Alba, and Jackie and Larry, born in Purcell.

It is recalled by the family and some friends that when the youngest, Larry, was born, the doctor was away on another call. Arlow sent for a friend, Lucy Barnes Davis, to assist. She spent most of hte day and delivered the baby. The story is the doctor charged Arlow $25.00.

The family lived in the area until 1947 then moved to Joplin where Arlow worked at the city market. They moved to Carterville, Missouri in 1951. He retired from the market. They lived in hte Carterville area for the rest of their lives.
