Walter Cantrell, 70, died Sunday, June 4, in Paintsville Hospital.A retired farmer and resident of West Van Lear, Mr. Cantrell was born January 4, 1906, in Magoffin County, the son of Amos and Clara Conley Cantrell. Surviving are his wife Cova Jones Cantrell; two sons, Walter Cantrell, Jr., Springfield, Ohio, and Larry Cantrell, West VanLear; three daughters, Jewell Lee, Dayton, Ohio, Clara Francis,Collinsworth, Ohio and Betty Letull, Medway, Ohio; five brothers,Wayne, Woodstock, Ohio, Fonzie and Granville,Mechanicburg, Ohio, Billie Delaware, Ohio and Bobby, London, Ohio;three sisters, Dixie Music, Mechanicsburg, Ohio,Gertrude Miller,Rosedale, Ohio, and Esta Blintlinger, Plumwood,Ohio; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7, in Jones- Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Kelly Caudill officiating .
Burial was in Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear with Jones-PrestonFuneral Home handling arrangements.
