(NEWELL) Howard Mitchell, 82, of Rt. 1, Newell, died Thursday, July 15, 1993, in Wedowee Hospital,
Wedowee, Ala., after an extended illness.
Mr. Mitchell was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County. He was a retired farmer and a member
of Union Baptist Church.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Jordan's Chapel Congregational Methodist Church,
with Rev. Ray Runyan and Rev. James Collier officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Mrs. W. H. Mitchell of Newell; one son, Billy Mitchell of Newell; two
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Woodrow Fetner of Cragford; two brothers, Willie
Mitchell of Anniston and Arnton Mitchell of Clewiston, Fla.
Pallbearers were Byrd Stewart, Bill Cofield, Wesley Benefield, Darson Waters, Beverly Olds and Tim Mitchell.
Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee, was in charge of arrangements.
