Olson on November 27, 1956, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Tabor, MN. They were married for 53 years, and they farmed and raised dairy cattle for a majority of their married lives on a farm near Tabor, MN. After farming, for the last 18 years of her life, she worked full–time for Environmental Services at Altru Rehab, and during every fall, she would work part-time at the Quality Lab at American Crystal Sugar, Co. during the beet season.
