Archibald Spear was the son of Archibald Speir (b. 5 Nov 1762 in Paisley,Renfrew,Scotland) and Janet Bradford (b. 27 JAN 1773).

In 1850 Archibald Spear was appointed Chief Engineer for the Fire Department of the Village of Pontiac.

On April 29, 1854 Archibald Spear won a government contract for the mail delivery between Owasso and Pontiac:

ROUTE No. 13069.

"From Pontiac to Owasso, 62 miles, and back, three times a week.

Contract made with Archibald Spear, dated April 29, 1854, at $860 : to commence July 1, 1654; to expire June 30, 1858.

Leave Pontiac Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 12 p.m. ; arrive at Owasso next days by 6 p.m.

Leave Owasso Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 6 a. m. ; arrive at Pontiac next day by 12 p.m."


He was 54 years old at the time of his death.
