Mr. Maggard was born March 4 1921 at Maggard, the son of the late Chester and Eliza Patrick Maggard.
He was part owner of Maggard and Joseph Furniture Company and owned and operated Serv-O Center.
Surviving are his wife, Laura McKenzie Maggard; three sons,Darrell of Lexington; Wendell and Larry both of Hager Hill;one daughter, Carol Blair of Riceville; one brother,Talmage of Arlington, Virginia; one sister, Girlden Josephof Paintsville; and 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday November 5, at Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev.Tobe Wheeler officiating.
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.
