This picture was taken in December 1996 for a Christmas Card Insert. Mother was quite active her entire life and loved to go go go. One day we were shopping and I asked Mom to go to this photo studio for a quick photo and she did! She died just three years later from an accident in the hospital.

This picture was taken in December 1996. My mother and I were shopping at Walmart and we saw the portrait studio. I said...Mom, let's take a picture of you. She was so easy going that she said SURE! I miss her every day. She was the BEST mother EVER! She loved to dance and she loved having groups of women over for each holiday. She would spend tons of money having artists create decorations for the many holidays and I would have twenty or more boxes to decorate for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I now have three attics full of the decorations I have bought with MOM. I love you Mother. I truly do!!!

Christmas 1985

Betty Nurmi loved dressing up as "Mrs. Santa Claus" and would hand out candy to children.

She knitted these outfits so that the children could all be coordinated. The brunette little boy and blond girl are twins. The other boy to the right is their older brother by three years.
