1825-1898
STUTZMAN.-On the 18th of June, 1898, near Chappell, Deuel Co., Neb., Abraham Stutzman, aged 73 years, 4 months and 5 days. He was born in Holmes Co., Ohio, and married Mattie Troyer December 16th, 1850. He was sick for ten months, and leaves a wife and ten children and sixty grandchildren, six preceded him to the spirit land. He was a member of the Amish Mennonite Church.
Oh, father, thy gentle voice is hushed,
Thy warm, true heart is stilled,
And on thy pale and peaceful face
Is resting death's cold chill.
Thy hands are clasped upon thy breast,
We have kissed thy marble brow,
And in our aching hearts we know
We have no grandfather now.
