Educator. Former vice president of the University of Colorado four campus system, and a Professor Emeritus of Psychology, University of Colorado at Boulder. Also served as dean of students, vice provost for academic affairs and vice chancellor for faculty and staff affairs at the university's Boulder campus. Volsky's tenure at the University of Colorado at Boulder was from 1962 to 1993. Awarded the University of Colorado's University Medal in 1993. He also received the Robert L. Stearns Award. PhD, University of Minnesota (Counseling Psychology, 1958-thesis: Modality of Word Association Test Response as a Factor in Improving Counselor Predictions). Professor Volsky's publications included: Research Counseling and Case Work Theory, Methodology and Outcomes: A Final Summary Report Transmitted to Louis W. and Maud Hill Family Foundation (1957); The Outcome of Counseling and Psychotherapy, Theory and Research (1965).

Volsky was the son of Theodore Volsky, Sr., and Mary Lanin Volsky.
