Myron Tverstol 1915-1996



Myron Oscar Tverstol, 81, of Fosston, died Sunday, September 15, 1996, at his home.
He was born August 24, 1915, at Argyle, Marshall County, Minnesota. to parents Ole and Olga (Nelson) Tverstol. He was raised and attended country school in rural Marshall County. He entered the United States Army with the demolitions unit an was deployed to both the European and Pacific theaters. After his discharge, Myron moved to Flint, Mich., where he was employed at an automoblie factory. Later, He returned to the area and eventually settled in Fosston where he had since resided.
He was a member of the Kingo Lutheran Church of Fosston and the Tangen-Walstrom American Legion Post # 114 of Fosston.
Survivors include two brothers, Waldon (Genevieve) Tverstol of Bemidji and Arlo (Viola) Tverstol of Great Falls, Mont., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Glen and Reuben; and two sister, Vila and Gladys.
Funeral services were Friday, September 20, at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. Charles Anderson officiating. Burial was at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Queen Township, Polk County, with arrangements by the Carlin- Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Honorary pallbearers were nels Vedbraaten, Dean Haugen, Arlo and Waldon Tverstol.
Pallbearers were Harold, Lauren, Wally Jr, and Shane Tverstol, and Kelly and Floyd Haugen.
