Became Loan officer with (what is now) Chase Manhattan of New York, then Goldman, Sachs & Co., New York. 1947 in Birmingham AL, partner at Marx & Co. 1955, started Jemison Investment Co., Inc, with interests in lumber & building materials, steel containers, manufacturing, magazine publishing, and real estate. Considered Birmingham's first "venture capitalist.
