She married William Charles Monroe Sr. July 30, 1948 in Fort Scott, Bourbon, Kansas.
Juanita's mother Anna died when she was only 2 years old. She was raised by her Uncle Warren and Aunt Frances West, her father's brother and wife. She grew up believing her name as spelled Jaunita and that she was born on May 3 1933. Years later (when I was about 14 or 15) she had to send for a copy of her birth certificate for some reason. It came back that her name was spelled Wonetta and she was born on May 2 1933. She said will I am too old to change the day I celebrate my birthday so I am not changing it. She did have the spelling of her name legally changed. She worked for years for Fort Scott Manor. She loved spending time with the family and taught her grandchildren many life long hobbies one of which was crocheting. I still think of Grandma every time I crochet a blank or dress or anything.
Children: Delores Kay (Monroe) Ford Norris, Glenda Faye (Monroe) Chaplin Gage, and William Charles "Billy" Monroe Jr.
