George Robinson was born in Mariners Harbor,Staten Island New York on Nov 21,1874.He was the son of Mr and Mrs William H Robinson.

In 1898 at the age of 24 years old George enlisted to serve in the Spanish American War in New York.He was attached to Company E,201 New York Infantry.After the War George returned to his home to New York.On April 22,1902 at the age of 27 years,George enlisted to serve in the U.S. Coastal Artillery and was assigned to the 122 Company that was stationed in Key West,Florida. While serving in the Coastal Artillery,George met his friend and future brother in Law,Charles Winfred Sanderson .Charles was in the 121st Company of the Coastal Artillery and stationed at the same Barracks in Key West that,George Robinson was.George and Charles had a allot in common.They had both served in the Spanish American War prior to joining the Coastal Artillery and they had both worked as a clerks in their home states before joining the Military.

After serving three years in the U S Coastal Artillery,George was discharged as a Corporal on April 21,1905.The following year,George was working as a "Bookkeeper" for the "Ormas de Oro Cigar Factory" in Key West.

George Robinson married,Minnie Agnes Harrison on his 32nd birthday Nov 21,1906 ,in Key West.Eleven mounth's later,Dec 12,1907,Minnie Robinson's younger sister,Lorena Alexandria Harrison married,George Robinson's friend,Charles Winfred Sanderson .Minnie and Lorena Harrison were the daughters of Rev Eugene Amelius Harrison Pastor at the Old Stone Methodist Church in Key West and,Margery Elizabeth "King" Harrison.Minnie and George Robinson never had children of their own but adopted a son,John W Robinson

By 1911 George and Minnie were living at,919 White Street in Key West with,George working as a "Clerk" for the "Ruy Lopez Cigar" factory alongside his friend and in law ,Charles Winfred Sanderson who was employed as "Book Keeper" there.Their positions at the "Ruy Lopez Cigar" factory were recorded in the 1911 Key West City directory.

When,Henry Flagler's Overseas Railroad made it's inaugural trip to Key West on Jan 22,1912,Minnie Robinson and her sister,Lorena Sanderson were there attending the massive celebrations.Every one came out to greet,Henry Flagler who was there to christen the service with his in person appearance.Lorena Sanderson later called her friend,Mrs Alfred Bates Curry "Jane" to tell her that there had been a pic-Pocket in the crowds earlier that day.

In the 1914 Key West city directory,George and Minnie can be found still living at,919 White Street in Key West with George's employment listed as a "Treasury Secretary", for the Cigar Factory.

By 1917 George and Minnie had moved to,415 Williams Street,in Key West.Sometime between 1914 and 1917 George had been hired as a "Cashier" in the United States Customs Office which is noted with his address in the 1917 Key West city directory.

On Sept 12,1918 George filled out his draft registration card for WW-I(listed address was:415 Williams Street),but was never called to serve.Although George did not serve in WW-I ,his friend and now bother in law,Charles W Sanderson did.When Charles took a ten day leave from WW-I service on Aug 22,1918 he stayed with his sister in Law,Minnie Agnes Robinson and her husband,George Robinson at,415 Williams Street in Key West.In a letter,Charles Sanderson wrote to his commanding officer,dated August 22,1918, he states his residence will be,415 Williams Street while he is on leave from his post at Ft Gordon,Georgia.Minnie Robinson's sister,Lorena A Sanderson and her three children had been staying at the Robinson's William Street address part of the time her husband,Charles Sanderson was stationed at Ft,Gordon,Georgia.

The War came to an end on "Armistice Day"(Nov 11, 1918).Six mouths later,Charles Sanderson was discharged from active service in the Quartermaster Corps on April 2 ,1919.Sometime after this the Robinson's and the Sanderson's had moved into the former "Delaney House" at,323 Whitehead Street in Key West.The previous year,Annie L Delaney,widow of,William L Delaney;the builder of the house,sold the property to a,Lavinia Artelezaga.

In 1974 the "Delaney House" was selected as one of 38 most significant Key West structures by the "Milo Smith Survey" of Historic Buildings in Key West.It functions today as part of a multi-property time share resort called the "Banyan Resort".The name taken from the large Banyan tree that now sits adjunct to the driveway of the old "Delaney House".

Both the Robinson's and the Sanderson's appear living at the "Delaney House" in the 1920 Federal Census.In about 1921,Charles Sanderson moved with his family to Tampa for more lucrative employment opportunity.Around this same time,George and Minnie Robinson moved first to the F E C apartments in Key West,then to the Coral Rock House at,1401 Reynolds Street in Key West.They remained here until,George Robinson's death on Dec 4,1923.

On Feb 24,1924 the widowed,Minnie Robinson applied for a pension for her husband George's service in the Coastal Artillery.By 1925,Minnie was living with her sister,Lorena Sanderson and brother in law,Charles Sanderson at 3008 Highland Ave in Tampa,Florida working as an Advertising Agent.

In the late 1920's she moved to,the town of her birth,Lecanto,Florida in Citrus County,Florida.Minnie togeather with her mother,Margery Elizabeth(King)Harrison,widow of,Rev Eugene A Harrison,financed the constructed of an eleven room house there.They called it "MinneMar" a combination of their two names.Minnie mother,Margery Elizabeth(King)Harrison happily lived out her days in the new house surrounded by family and in the town of her children's birth,Lecanto.Once completed "MinneMar" became a popular family gathering place for the Robinson's ,Sanderson's,Harrison's and King families who were many in Lecanto,Florida.Minnie's mother,Margery's first cousin,John Edwin King was state Senator for Citrus County Florida from 1916-1928.

At the time of,George Robinson death in 1923 he was "Deputy Collector and Inspector" in charge of the out door force of The United States Customs Services in Key West.A postion held by,William L Delaney from 1914 till his death in 1917.As previously mentioned in 1919,George Robinson with his sister in law's family,the Sanderson's,had rented the "Delaney House" after George's former co-worker,William L Delaney's widow had sold the property in 1918.

George was a member of the Elks Lodge,Island City Lodge,Knights of Pythias,B.H. McCalls Camp,A Spanish American War Veteran and other Organizations in the City of Key West.George Robinson was buried in an unmarked grave,marked with a orange cone shown in the posted picture.

After years of being active in and around Citrus County Florida while living with her mother at "MinneMar" and after her mothers death in 1932,Minnie Robinson moved to Miami,Florida to be near her sister,Lorena Sanderson and her famliy.Charles Sanderson with wife,Lorena along with their three girls,Florence,Margery,and Gertrude "Trudy" had moved to Miami from Tampa in Jan of 1931.

Minnie Agnes Robinson died in Miami on Jan 7,1961 and was buried at "Flagler Memorial Park" cemetery in Miami with her sisters's family,Charles and Lorena Sanderson who had preceded her in death.Years later the three Sanderson girls,Florence,Margery and Gertrude "Trudy" would be buried here as well.
