October 28, 1933 – May 23, 2011
Glaine passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord May 23, 2011 at the home of her sister in Pasco, Washington surrounded by family.
Born October 28, 1933 in Kent, Washington, she was the eldest of five children born to Wayne and Edith Ellis. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1951.
She married Larry Scoles in 1952 and they had seven children together. In the early 1960's she founded the Robin Scoles Kidney foundation, helping to bring the first kidney dialysis machine to the Seattle area.
She married Clifford Olson in 1967, who had three children. They had one child together.
She did volunteer work at the Stanwood/Camano Food Bank, and Skagit Valley Gleaners. She worked for her brother at Ellis Market in Mt. Vernon before retiring as a snowbird in the Arizona desert.
Glaine and Cliff were big CB fans with Glaine having the CB handle "Mother of Many (MOM)".
She loved music and was choir director at her home church in Arizona. Glaine was devoted to her family and was always making some type of craft and giving them to others.
Glaine's children are Steve (Maureen), Mike, Barb (John), Robin, Laurie, David (Elaine), Sue (David), Jerry, Rick (Joanie), Colleen and Ron.
Glaine was preceded in death by parents, Wayne Ellis and Edith Ellis Kent, both spouses; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Scoles.
Glaine has two brothers, Bob and Jerry, both of Mount Vernon; sisters, Sharon McIntyre and Mary Lee Hurley, of Pasco, Washington; two stepbrothers, Gary and Gordon; as well as a stepsister, Gail. She also had numerous nephews and nieces and so many grand and great-grandchildren that not even she could count them all and at least one more on the way.
She will be missed greatly and a celebration of life will be held June 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 831 E Washington Avenue, Burlington, Washington, with potluck to follow.
