Rev. Thomas Skinner was a son of Thomas and Mehitable (Durant) Skinner of Malden, Massachusetts. See Frederick Lewis Weiss, The Colonial Clergy and the Colonial Churches of New England (Lancaster, Mass.: Society of the Descendants of the Colonial Clergy, 1936), p. 188:
