A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late William Samuel and Nannie Farris Weddle. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Roswell Nash, Jr. who died in 1971; two sisters, Helen Simpson and Nell Weddle and by three brothers, Harry, John and George Weddle. She was a member of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Maier is survived by her husband, Oscar M. Maier; a daughter, Karen N. Harry and her husband Michael G Harry of St. Simon Island, GA; a son, William Roswell Nash, III and his wife Kathy Nash of Fitzgerald, GA; two sisters, Hazel Grandurier of New Orleans, LA and Margaret Pettit and her husband William of Holly Springs, NC; one brother, William S. Weddle, Jr. and his wife Mary of Morehead City, NC and five grandchildren.
