A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Zeb and Annie Smith Haney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Furman Dewey Henson. She was retired from American Enka after 35 years of service and was a member of Brown’s View United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Rector of Candler; a son Gary Henson and his wife Shireen of Virginia; a sister, Ruby Hannah of Candler; two brothers, Clifford Haney of Candler and Buddy Haney of Rutherfordton; three grandchildren, Heath Rector, Phillip Henson and Jason Henson and one great-grandchild, Cianna Rector.
