MAGNA--Harrison L. Bowers, age 89 died September 11, 1982.
born September 16, 1892, in Nephi, Utah, to Abraham and Christina [sic] Sinclair Bowers. Married Anna E. Anderson on May 22, 1918, in Manti, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a warehouse forman [sic] for Kennecott Copper Co., retiring in 1959. Active in the LDS Church, serving in all quorums of he Priesthood. He was first counselor in the 5th Quorum of Elders in 1944 in Garfield, Utah. He was ordained a High Priest on April 13, 1948 by Heber C. Kimball and at that time was first counselor in the Garfield Ward bishopbric. He was superintendent of Sunday School, stake Aaronic Priesthood, and has been High Priest secretary of the Magna 2nd Ward. Member of hte Veterans of World War 1 Barracks #1654.
Survivors: wife; sons and daughter: Vao Bowers; LaUna Clifton; Jay Bowers, all of West Valley City; Jack Bowers of Kearns; Robert Bowers of Magna; 14 grandchildren; 22 reat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Maude Robertson of Nephi; Leona Mangelson of Levan; Joy Johnson of American Fork; Clarence and Maylon Bowers of Nephi.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., at the Magna Ward Chapel, 8739 West 3000 South. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m., at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and at the chapel, one hour prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
