Ralph Edward Lee, 73, of East Ninth Street, died Friday, June 15, 2001, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Lamar Moore. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Mr. Lee was born in Walhalla, Oconee County, S.C., on July 12, 1927, to Austin Lee and Lela Orr Lee. He retired from McLean Trucking Co. after 30 years of service. Mr. Lee served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of VFW Post No. 3074. His parents and a sister, Viola Beatty, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Edwards Lee of the home; two sons, Rick Lee of Nashville, Tenn., and Wallace Stone of Lexington; two daughters, Wanda Lee Huey of Greensboro and Kathy Lee Crawford of Roseville, Calif.; six grandchildren, Madeline and Olivia Huey, Kalee and Jack Crawford, and Cameron and Nicholas Stone; six brothers, Ervin Lee, Lafayette Lee, Clarence Lee, Carl Lee, Jack Lee and Ray Lee; and two sisters, Ruth Edwards and Agnes Oliver.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful people at Hospice and request that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, N.C. 27293; or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.
