In 1875, she married Edward Teal in Shelby County, where the family is enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census.
In 1900, Tennie and Edward were living with their grown daughter, Georgia Ann Teal Nolen, and her husband, Thomas Jefferson Nolen, in Erath County, Texas.
According to the pension application, Edward died in Shelby County in 1902.
In 1920, Tennie was living with her daughter and son-in-law, Gertrude and Ernest Watson in Brown County, Texas.
Tennie applied for a Confederate widow's pension in Dickens County in 1928; however, because she was unable to give the specifics of her husband's service during the war (other than working as a blacksmith shoeing horses for the Confederate Army), her application was denied.
She was living with her daughter, Gertrude, in Dickens County at the time of her death and was buried in the Dickens cemetery. The cause of death is listed as pneumonia.
