Born at Somersetshire England in 1832 and died at Rolfe Iowa
Saturday, October 27, 1906. WilliamTrick came to America in 1848 with his father, William Trick, Sr. who settled in Dubuque County, IA near where the town of Dersville is now located. HIs father before leaving England had engages in the ministry and when coming to America adoptd himself to the new conditions of the country and took up the work of a pioneer minister, settling on a homestead. He was a man of deep thought and power, putting great energy into his work. He was a follower of John Wesley and was the father of Methodism in Northeastern Iowa, helping to found the Upper Iowa conferences well as givng great aid in founding the Methodist schools of that part of the state.

WIlliam Trick, Jr., was sixteen years old when he came to America with his parents. He possessed many of the qualities of his father and became a man of strict integrity adhering to principles of Methodism believing and following the teachings of his father. In December 1857 he was married to Mary Rigg Board and lived at Dyersville, Iowa until their children were grown. He was active worker in the Methodist church at Dyersville and his home was always open to ministers and church people of the Upper Iowa conference. In 1890 he move to Keokuk, IA and after living there for twelve years moved to Rolfe in 1902, but always left his church membership at Dyersville. For several months he has been failing fast and it became noticeable that he was out but very little. The funeral was held Monday, October 29, 1906 from the home of his daughter Mrs, CM Webb conducted by the Rev PC Money of the Methodist church at Rolfe. His wife and three or four children survive him.
