Martin County — Marie Penix Branham, 92, of Clothier, W.Va., formerly of Martin County, died Monday, Feb. 23. Born Aug. 28, 1911, in Martin County, she was a daughter of the late George and Florence Meek Penix. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Branham; a son, Granville Branham; a grandson, Greg Branham; three sisters, Gladys Daniels, Shirley Penix and Vina Salmons; and four brothers, George Penix Jr., Granville Penix, Estill Penix and Harvey Burnis Penix. Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Bragg of Clothier; four sons, Earl Branham of Radcliff, Burl Branham of Columbus, OH, Elmer Branham of Elida, OH, and Elias Branham Jr. of Germany; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and seven great, great grandchildren. Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 26, at Hanley Funeral Home Chapel, Madison, WV, with Rev. David May and Rev. Paul Little officiating. Burial was in Family Gardens Cemetery, Madison, under direction of Handly Funeral Home.
