In one census record, her name was given as Lydia Eliza Arabella King. The tombstone has it "Arbella." She was the fourth born child and third daughter of thirteen children born to Reverend Harmon Daniel King (1805-1906) and his first wife Mary V. Starnes (1814-1865). On 22 July 22 1860, she married Thomas Howard Starnes (27 Sept. 1837-11 August 1909) a distant cousin of her mother's. They had eight children, the last born only a month and a half before the mother died.

F. Della Josephine (2 Dec. 1870-29 July 1904) m. John David Godfrey.
G. Harriett Lucinda (2 Nov. 1872-26 Oct. 1955) m. John Martin Privette.
