Sarah Lindemoen, 86, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.
Sarah Pokrzywinski was born on November 9, 1924 in rural Argyle, MN, the daughter of John and Margaret (Dauksavage) Pokrzywinski. She spent her early years in the Argyle/Stephen area. On November 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Bailey Lindemoen. They made their home in Grand Forks, ND and Grafton, ND before moving to Montclair, CA in 1952 where they resided with their son. Sarah worked different jobs until her grandchildren were born when she stayed home to raise Angie, Valerie and Rickey Jr. Sarah and Bailey moved back to Minnesota with their grandchildren in 1986. Bailey died on June 30, 1986.
She was a wonderful grandmother/great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. She was not only a grandmother to Angie, Valerie and Rickey but was also the mother they never had.
Sarah loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed playing yahtzee and talking on the phone, always keeping up with the nieces and nephews.
Left to mourn her passing are her grandchildren, Angie (Dustin) Kramer of LaCrosse, WI, Valerie (Matt Boris) Lindemoen of Warren, MN and Rickey Lindemoen Jr. of Moose Lake, MN; step-granddaughters, Leslie (Donny Hanson) Jenson of Genoa, WI and Billie Jo (Craig) Ford of Flagstaff, AZ; great-grandchildren, Caleb Srnsky, Baillee Lindemoen and Lisa and Hannah Lindemoen, step-great-grandchildren, Kierstin, Kyle and Kole Jenson and Heidi and Rachel Kramer; brothers, Peter (Lola Mae Beaudry) Pokrzywinski of Argyle, MN and Al Pokrzywinski of French Island, WI; sisters, Alice Kostrzewski of Warren, MN, Loretta (Elmer Dahl) Kostrzewski of Argyle, MN and Geraldine (Raphael) Topka of Argyle, MN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rickey Sr.; brothers, Julian, Leonard, Louis and Chester and sister, Delores Stancyk.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:00 AM on Friday, January 21, 2011 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Argyle, MN. VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM prayer service on Thursday at the church and one hour before services on Friday. INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery, Warren, MN.
