Frances L. Mast 94 of Walnut Creek and formerly of Farmerstown died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Pomerene Memorial Hospital at Millersburg. She was born October 11, 1919 in Holmes County to the late Orus and Iva (Hostetler) Miller. She was co-owner of Farmerstown Elevator, volunteered and co-managed Global Crafts at Walnut Creek, and had worked at both Schlabach Store and Country Store at Walnut Creek. Frances was a lifetime member of the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church. She was married March 22, 1941 to Gerald Mast who died June 14, 1982. She is survived by her son Murray (Jan) Mast of Canton, 2 daughters Ann (Scott) McGowan of California and Teresa Davis of Utah, daughter-in-law Nila Mast of Benton, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her sister Ruth Starner of Walnut Creek. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sons Gerald D. "Gary" Mast and Jeffrey L. Mast, grandson Gerald Patrick "Rick" Mast, infant brother Tommy Miller, her brother Howard Miller, sister-in-law Norma Miller and brother-in-law Raymond Starner. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church with Pastor Don Hamsher officiating. Private family burial will be in the Church Cemetery prior to services. Friends may call on Wednesday 5-7 PM at the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. Memorials may be made to LifeCare Hospice of Holmes County at 2525 Back Orrville Road Wooster, Ohio 44691.
