Isaac was the son of John Parish and his wife Mary Wattell/Waddell Parish.

He married Margret Smith in 1721 and the family lived in Windham.

The couple had 10 children: John in 1722 (died 1724), Isaac in 1723, Zebulon in 1725/26, Jerusha in 1727, Oliver in 1730, John in 1732, Archippus in 1735, Margaret in 1735, Esther in 1738 and Susannah in 1742.

In 1745, Isaac served as a Lieutenant in the 1st Company, Trainband. A trainband was a militia company in the Americas of non-standard size from which soldiers were called into combat in wartime.

He kept a tavern in Windham before 1760.

It is assumed, but not confirmed, that he was buried near his wife in Windham Center Cemetery, as she died nearly 9 years before him.
