Unfortunately for my beloved maternal grandfather there was no obituary found or kept to create a formal memorial for this wonderful man, however I am leaving these words in memory of him, as he died before I was born. I remember my beloved Mama telling me that when she went back home to Toledo to visit, her "Pop" would always cry when she was to leave to come back to North Carolina because as she was the "baby" of the family, she was certainly still his. I am also proud to be named "Robert" after him. I know my Mama was smiling when they were reunited in Heaven, and this time there were no tears.
