Edward Eaton direct descendant of Rev Joseph Eaton so John and Joan Eaton of Wales, who migrated in 1683 with William Penn, to Pennsylvania . after the death of his father, also Edward, in 1812, he removed to New York , following his sister's family Hugh and Martha McAllister, of Manlius, New York. Edward Eaton II, m 1832, Eliza Cole, dau of Capt. Reuben Cole and Elizabeth King of New York, they removed in 1840 to Ingham co. Mi. and purchased a homestead from Benjamin Avery, 40 acres, the land was divided between two sons Edward III and John Eaton both enlisted with brother Joseph S, into the Civil War as Michigan Volunteers. Edward III, did not return home . Joseph his brother married his widow, John m Mary Moore and looked after his parents til the death of Edward II then rem to Mecosta co Michigan, with his mother and family. Burial of Edward II is unknown , his land and residence is 1/2 mile south of Fairview Cemetery , tis the reason for this memorial here. Eliza Cole Eaton. is buried at the Eaton Cemt. in Barryton, Mi
