"CLINTON- Funeral services for William (Bill) Bennett Bell, 58, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from the Clinton Methodist Church. He died at his home Tuesday night after a short illness.
He had lived here for the past 24 years and was a Mason and a member of the Clinton Methodist Church. He was a heavy equipment operator and farmer.
Survivors include two sons, William J. of Sheffield, Ala. and John Ellis of Clinton; his mother, Mrs. Lena Bell of Woodville; one brother, Frank E. Bell of Woodville; three sisters, Mrs. Be Be Sineath, Savannah, Ga., Mrs Ethel Selman of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Eula Trull of Broomald, Pa.; and two grandchildren."

"Bill" as he was called, was a heavy equipment operator and a farmer. Like his grandfather he was also a Freemason and devout Christian. He attended Clinton Methodist church and loved to fish. He was dear to his mother and they wrote each other very frequently. On July 3, 1935 he married Nelma Jane Perry, and they had two children, William Jefferson "Jeff" Bell and John Ellis "Buddy" Bell. They divorced on December 21, 1955.
A heavy smoker of unfiltered cigarettes, Bill had been in and out of hospital for heart trouble; a week after getting out on June 8th he died of a massive heart attack on June 15, 1965 whilst his son Buddy, and wife Ruby, were visiting him at home. Buddy attempted CPR for almost a whole hour and went with him to the hospital, but Bill had passed away before he even hit the ground.
