Odie died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 89. The son of Thomas Jerry and Retta Maud (Blackmore) Allsup was born March 15, 1919 in Owasso. He attended Owasso schools and then went on to serve in the U. S. Army during World war II.
Odie worked at the Civil Conservation Corps, the Pryor Powder (TNT) Plant, McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft for nine years and then retired after 23 years of service from the U. S. Postal Service in 1982. where he worked in maintenance.
On January 6, 1984, Odie married Juanita Eve Scott at Faith Baptist Church. He was an active member of the American Legion, and served two terms as Post Commander. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels for 22 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel (Gideon) Allsup; his parents, and siblings, Bill Allsup, Buel "Chico" Allsup, Oleta Burns and Mildred Worley.
