Ethel Victoria Smith, who with her husband, Elmer S. Smith, operated a motel in Ceres, died this morning at her home near Ceres after an extended illness. She was 63.
Mrs. Smith, a native of Rollins county, Kansas, had lived in this communtiy for 15 years.
She was the mother of Howard L. Smith and Veril Smith of Modesto and a sister of Ida Marshall of San Leandro, Lulu Smith, and Van A. Rater of Casey, Iowa.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Carolyn V. Smith and Allan Leslie Smith, both of Modesto.
Funeral services will be arranged by the Salas Brothers-Moore Funeral Chapel.
