Leonard F. Schumaker

Leonard Fred Schumaker, 80, of Crookston, died late Friday afternoon, Oct. 20, 1995 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Stenshoel Funeral Home with visitation running for one hour before the funeral. Burial will take place in the Oakdale Cemetery.

Leonard was born in Sparta, Wisconsin on Sept. 4, 1915, the son of Fred and Rectina Jane (McCoy) Schumaker. After the death of his father, Leonard moved with his mother to Grygla, Minnesota. For Many years he worked as a farm laborer in the Grygla area. He later moved to Newfolden and for five years was employed at a turkey processing plant near Thief River Falls. He then moved to Crookston where he was employed by the Crookston Iron and Metal Company.

He married Mildred Adams in Crookston. She died on Sept. 10, 1984.

Survivors include three brothers, Harold Schumaker and Jesse Laughery, both of Crookston, and Wesley Laughery, Grand Forks.

He is precede in death by his wife, his parents, his stepfather, Charles H. Laughery; and a sister Clara Hudson.
