LaBARR, Wesley Of Mt. Morris, age 89, died Saturday, December 27, 1997 at Genesys
Health Park. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 1997
at Trinity Assembly of God, with Pastor David Krist officiating and burial in
Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 p.m.
and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Mr. LaBarr will lie in state at the church on
Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Trinity
Assembly of God. Mr. LaBarr was born August 3, 1908 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of
Bert and Gracie Ann (Runyan) LaBarr and had resided in Mt. Morris the past 60 years.
Wesley married Mary Evelyn McCuaig. Wesley was one of the original Sitdown Strikers
and worked for many years at Buick Engine (#36), retiring in 1970. Wesley was a member
of UAW #599 and has been a member of Trinity Assembly of God for 57 years. Surviving
are: wife, Mary Evelyn; son, Rex and wife, Marge LaBarr of Clio; daughters, Barbara
and husband Willis Taylor of Clio, Beverly and husband Richard Stevens of Florida,
and Berneice and husband Jim Nicholas of Clio; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
