"Mrs. Knut Mehus died; services held Monday
Mrs. Knut (Clara) Mehus, 75, died early Thursday last week, October 26, at Cherokee.

The funeral service was held in Salem Lutheran Church, Roland, on Monday, October 30, with Pastor Everett Nelson officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Christain sang two songs, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Interment was in the Roland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Caltvedt, Irvin Goodmanson, Noel Thompson, Haakon Herigstad, Reg Mehus and Ralph Emerson.

Clara Logan Mehus, daughter of Christian and Julia Loga, was born near Roland, Iowa, on October 26, 1892 and passed away in Cherokee, Iowa, on October 26, 1967, at the age of 75 years.

She was baptized and confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church at Roland, and was a life-long member of that church.

She was united in marriage to Knut Mehus on September 22, 1913. Three sons and one daughter were born to this union.

Mrs. Mehus was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James and Lester; one granddaughter, Kimberly Plung; two sisters, Guvine (Mrs. Ed Christian) and Evelyn (Mrs. Carl) Tesdahl; one brother, Noel Logan; four half-sisters, Mrs. Gertie Sparboe, Mrs. Dena Christian, Mrs. Carrie Larson, and Mrs. Josie Teig; three half brothers, Henry Logan, Knute Logan, Otis Boyd; and also Mrs. Mary Duea, who was raised in the Logan home.

She is survived by her husband, Knut Mehus of Roland; one daughter, Cora (Mrs. George Caltvedt) of Waterloo; one son, Milton, of Roland; three granddaughters, Mrs. Joan Emerson, Mrs. Margo Plung, and Mrs. Valerie Henson; two grandsons, Charles Caltvedt and Reg Mehus; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Palmer Logan of Story City; and one half sister, Mrs. Martha Mason of Montevideo, Minn.; Mrs, Ruby Nelson, who was raised in the home; and several other relatives."
