Mary Catherine Dowling Barlow departed this life on July 21,2004 after a long illness. She was born in Springfield Kentucky on February 17,1930 to William Edward Dowling and Mary Effie Mattingly Dowling. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. Mary Lucille Dowling Derringer(1915-1935), Thomas Walter Dowling Sr., Joseph Edward Dowling Sr., Mary Ethel Dowling (1920-1985), James Foster Dowling, James Robert Dowling, and a sibling that she was named after Mary Catherine Dowling that died as an infant.
Mary Catherine (Kitty) was a graduate of St.Catherine Academy just outside of Springfield and was a devout Roman Catholic her entire life. Upon graduation she worked in Frankfort, Kentucky for the Department of Insurance until shortly after her marriage to Ben Barlow Jr. on July 10, 1953. They were married 51 years at the time of her death. She was a housewife and mother to five children; David Wayne Barlow, Michael Dowling Barlow, Susan Lynn Barlow McNees, Joan Marie Barlow Luther, and Roger Alan Barlow. She is survived by her husband Ben, all of her children and 7 grandchildren.
