Edwin "Bud" F. Fangmann, 79, of Manchester, Iowa, died Friday morning, November 21, 2003, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester following a long illness. Bud was born on November 23, 1923, in New Vienna, Iowa, the son of Clem J. and Magdeline (Schroeder) Fangmann. He attended Conoly Country School in Delaware County and St. Bonifas in New Vienna. On June 3, 1947, Bud was united in marriage to Lois T. Gudenkauf at St. Francis Basilica in Dyersville. He worked for Koelker Implement in Dyersville and farmed in Earlville. In 1958, they moved to the Dundee area to farm until retiring in 1998. Bud was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa and enjoyed farming. He is survived by his wife, Lois of Manchester; eleven children and their spouses, Bob (Karen) Fangmann of Marion, Mary Kay of Manchester, Doris (Dave) Lawrence of Dundee, Darlene (Steve) Cornwell of Greeley, Dick (Leanne) Fangmann of Dundee, Herb (Mary) Fangmann of Rowley, RoseAnn (Dan) Hiatt of Manchester, Linda (Gary) Sigler of St. Peters, MO, Kathy (Don) McCurdy of Dundee, Terri Fangmann and friend Ray Cooksley of Manchester, and Carla Fangmann and fiancé Mark Dingbaum of Robins; twenty-four grandchildren; four sisters, Marie Schneider of Dyersville, Julia Schlichte of Manchester, Irene Vorwald of New Vienna, Armella Schroeder of Holy Cross; two brothers, Leander Fangmann of Manchester and Elmer W. Fangmann of Dyersville. Bud is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Regina Gaul and Clara Ruden; and two brothers, Leonard and Lawrence Fangmann.
