The Strandquist community was shocked Tuesday to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Gust Onger, of east of Strandquist. She gave birth to twin girls Tuesday morning and died a short time later. Dr. Turnbull was called but she was breathing her last just as he arrived.

The husband, relatives and friends are almost prostrated with grief over the loss of this loving, kindly wife, mother and friend. The blow seems almost impossible to bear to the husband who is left alone with seven little children to care for. The oldest is only 8 years old. The little motherless twins are apparently in good health and doing well.

Mrs. Gust Onger, nee Hilma Caroline Johnson, was born at Sweet Prairie, Yellow Medicine Co, Minn., Jan. 15, 1988, and was at the time of her death only 35 years old. She was married to Gust Onger Feb 25, 1914, and moved up to Strandquist in March of the same year as Mr. Onger had some land there and had established a home at that place. They have lived there ever since.

Besides the sorrowing husband and seven little children, there are three sisters, Mrs. Larson of Pauton, Minn., Mrs. Simlow of Minneota, Minn., and Mrs. Chas. Kittelson of Strandquist and one brother, Will Johnson of Enderline, SD, mourning her death.

The funeral will be conducted next Monday from the Lutheran Church at Strandquist, Rev. P.G. Carstedt officiating and interment will be made in the Bethesda cemetery.

We extend to the sorrowing family our most sincere sympathy.

Note:
Tom & Mary Nelson took in one twin, Hildur, when her mother died and raised her. It is believed the Swan Olson family took the other twin, Hilma. Hilma died Nov 22, 1923 of measles.
