Bertril Onger, 82, died February 10, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tucson, Arizon.

Bertril Adolph Onger was born February 8, 1916, the son of Gustave and Hilma (Johnson) Onger in Strandquist, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Strandquist. He served during World War II with the 160th General Hospital Medical Corps stationed near Sheltonham, England. While there, he married Hilda Eckersley on July 28, 1945. He returned to Strandquist where he was engaged in farming and worked at farming in the Stephen and Warren area. He worked in the maintenance department of Grand View Lodge, Brainerd, Minnesota, and the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch, Tucson, Arizona before retiring in the Tucson area.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda; son L. (M.); daughter C. (G.) Sistad; granchildren: J. Ramos, R. Onger, T. Buratezuk, A. Sistad; great-grandchildren: C. Granlee, S. Granlee, W. Ramos, D. Onger, D. Onger, D. Onger and sister Hildur Yoraway, Escondido, California.

He was preceded in death by brothers: Ellsworth, Harold, and Wallace; sisters: Hilda, Janet and Mabel; grandchildren: Scott Alan Sistad and Rhonda Kay Sistad.

Services were held Saturday, February 14, at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, Tucson. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the English Cemetery, Strandquist and will be announced in the spring.

Collins Funeral Homes of Karlstad, Greenbush and Middle River is in charge of arrangements.
