{When the town of Lexington, Kansas was first being built, Minnie died due to a epidemic of typhoid fever. There wasn't a cemetery yet, so she was buried on her brother, George W. McDonald's place. Three acres of his land was purchased for the Lexington Cemetery a few years later. So, Minnie was the first person buried in this cemetery.}
