Sarah Annie was born in Provo in 1855, the 3rd of 8 children. Her great grandparents immigrated from Scotland & Ireland. Her great grandfather served in the Revolutionary War.
She was the daughter of Mormon pioneers who crossed the plains by wagon in 1851 with the Erastus Snow Co. Her father, Jesse was a farmer. Her mother, Nancy, was Jesse's third wife. His first two wives died on the trail west. Nancy helped raise his other children, plus they had 8 of their own. Little Sarah was baptized Oct, 1863 in Provo.

Sarah had a happy, loving childhood in Provo. She married Henry Rawlings Nov 11, 1872 at age 16 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake. After the marriage, they resided in Provo until between 1890 to 1896.

They had three children, Reva Rawlings (1885-1886)an infant, Clarence Henry Rawlings (Nov. 25, 1877 to Feb. 20, 1945; and Hazel McCauslin Rawlings Reiser (May 5, 1884 to Sept. 29, 1962.

They moved to Salt Lake about 1896 where they resided the rest of their lives. They were married for 52 years.

Sarah passed away in Salt Lake City where she & Henry had lived for 30+ years. She is buried in Provo with Henry & her baby daughter Reva. She was 76 years old.
