TALLMADGE -- Jack J. Canady, 86, died suddenly Sept. 24 at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital.

He was born in Bedford, Va., and had lived in the Akron-Tallmadge area most of his life. Mr. Canady was employed for 37 years with General Tire & Rubber Co., retiring in 1962. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 209, and was a World War I veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by wife, E. Faye; sons, Jack E. of Queenstown, Md., David L. of Columbus; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Betsy Padgett of Forest, Va., Iona Inge of Goode, Va., Lena Johnson, Thelma Huffine, both of Roanoke, Va.

Funeral services Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the Hopkins MOGADORE Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Av., Pastor Gary Robinson officiating. Burial Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. TODAY. The family suggests memorials to the Goodyear Heights Community Church, or the Hattie Larlham Foundation Inc., 9772 Diagonal Rd., Montua.(Hopkins, Mogadore, 733-6271.)
