GOODE - Mrs. Lena Anderson Padgett, 93, of Rt. 1, Goode, died Thursday afternoon at her home. She was the widow of Robert Addison Padgett.
A native of Bedford County, she was the daughter of James E. Anderson and Lucy Hunter Anderson. She was a member of Oakland Methodist Church.
Surviving are five sons, J. Kelly Padgett of Moneta, W. Carroll Padgett of Evington, M. Carrington Padgett and Carey Padgett of Roanoke; three daughters, Mrs. Roy M. Canady of Goode, Mrs. Albert A. Brown of Baltimore, Mrs. Sidney B. Higgins of Roanoke; one half-sister, Mrs. Frank Inge of Forest, 32 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Carder Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Virginia Memorial Park.
