Emanuel Carlson Passed Away On Friday
Emanuel Carlson of Strandquist passed away at the Karlstad Memorial Hospital on Friday at the age of 79 years after having been ill for some time.
Jacob Emanuel Carlson was born on February 20, 1883 in Jamtland, Sweden the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlson. He emigrated to this country with his parents and they settled in Lincoln Township where he grew to manhood. He helped his parents on the home farm and worked as a farm hand for many years. In later years, he made his home with the Otto Carlsons.
Emanuel had been in ill health for the past two years and passed away at the Karlstad Hospital on July 20th at the age of 79 years and 5 months.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters. Left to mourn his passing are four brothers, Otto, Oscar and Alfred of the Strandquist area and Zachery of St. Paul.
Services were held from the Karlstad Gospel Tabernacle on Tuesday, July 24th with Rev. J. A. Riveness presiding.
Pallbearers were G. Johnson, A. Grochowski, T. Blackberg, W. Blackberg, T. Haugen and H. Carlson and music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Ingolf Ingebrigtsen and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Pederson.
Interment was made in the Mission Cemetery with the Kloempken Funeral Service of Karlstad making arrangements.
