To Hold Rites For Mrs. Onger This Friday

Mrs. Annie Christine Onger of Strandquist passed away at the University of Minnesota Hospital at 4:30 Sunday afternoon, February 23rd at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 12 days. She had been in failing health for some time and a couple of months ago, she went to Minneapolis to stay with her daughter, Mrs. Adolph Johnson and to seek specialized medical aid. [victim of cancer]

Mrs. Onger was born November 11, 1888 in the Strandquist community, a daughter of Carl and Anna Carlson, and she has spent her entire life in that vicinity. She was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church and attended a rural school near her home.

On October 17th, 1925 [correct date is Oct 17, 1924], she was married to Gust Onger and two children were born of this union. She was a wonderful wife and mother and also reared and cared for six step-children to whom she was devoted and she loved them as her own.

She was preceded in death by one daughter (Lorraine), a step-son (Ellsworth Onger) and her husband who passed away just last year.

Left to mourn her departure are her son, Harold of St. Paul; and five stepchildren: Janet, Mrs. Oscar Carlson of Strandquist; Bertril of Warren; Mabel, Mrs. Adolph Johnson of Minneapolis; Wallace of Strandquist and Hildur, Mrs. Lloyd Yoraway of Minneapolis; thirteen grandchildren and five brothers: Emanuel, Otto, Oscar and Alfred all of Strandquist and Zachary of Karlstad, presently staying in St. Paul.

The funeral will be held at the Gospel Tabernacle in Karlstad at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28th with Pastor J. A. Riveness assisted by Pastor C. R. Logelin officiating. The pall bearers will be Clarence Lundstrom, William Hansen, Theodore Kittelson, Oscar Lundstrom, Martin Myszkowski and John M. Johnson, all lifelong friends and neighbors of the deceased.
