Obituary of Peter M. Carlson

Peter M. Carlson passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Fargo on Wednesday, June 11th, (actual date is June 10th from the ND death register) from a lingering liver ailment.
Peter Carlson was born to Carl and Anna Carlson January 25, 1887, at Jamtland, Sweden. He came to America with his parents the first of August, 1888. (The family left Sweden June 30, 1888, according to the Swedish emigration record). They settled in the Strandquist community, where he spent his entire life with the exception of times when he worked in different places. He also spent about 14 months serving his country during World War I.
The past 16 years, he farmed together with his brother, Alfred, where he also made his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers, three of whom died in infancy. He is survived by a sister (Anna), Mrs. Gust Onger, and five brothers, Alfred, Oscar, Otto and Emmanuel, all of Strandquist, and Zachary of Karlstad, besides several nieces and nephews.
At the time of his passing, Mr. Carlson was 65 years, 4 months and 16 days old.
Funeral services were held at the Pentecostal church in Karlstad, Saturday, June14th with Rev. Edward Logelin officiating. Interment was made in the Mission cemetery at Strandquist.
Special numbers in song were rendered by Rose and Fern Johnson, Mrs. Clarence Lundstrom, Mrs. Edward Logelin and Mrs. Archie Larson.
Active pall-bearers included H. Carlson, C. Lundstrom, T. Blackberg, T. Haugen, A. Strandquist and E. Lefrooth. Honorary pallbearers were N. Sundberg, E. Olson, E. Donaldson, A. Hager, G. Berggren and A. Foss.
Full military rites were conducted at the graveyard by the Strandquist Legion Post.
